CEDARS expects to step forward in Nurburgring

23-05-2012

After two days of testing in Valencia at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Cedars team leaves for Nurburgring with their homework done.
The many young problems that occurred in Portimao with the new F-312 appear to have been practically resolved in the tests. This helped the engineers and pilots focus on the cars development, cutting substantially the gabs with the championship leader team, who was also sharing his training days with our team at the Circuit de Valencia Community.

For Noel Jammal, it is time he takes the place he deserves in this championship. He definitely got the hardest hit in Portimao with a barely tested new car, leaving him quite touched emotionally. Now he's working hard to regain that trust again. In Germany, he will start showing off what the team expects of him, without any doubts.

N.J: “i feel more at ease with the new car now that i had time to test it more and with the new improvements they made with it. Yet we still need to test it more, and that's what we'll do in free practices in Nurburgring. I trained everyday since Portimao and i moved to Valencia to be closer to the team. It's my first time racing in Nurburgring and it makes me a bit nervous because it's a historical track, which pushes me to give everything i have to win''.

Matteo Beretta faces the next race conscious of how close he was in Portimao to getting a pole position, and with the confidence that after this last week improvements, he can aspire to anything.

M.B: “ i had some very interesting driving tests in Valencia, i'm really happy with the results  and feel very confident about the race in Nurburgring although it's my first time there. The simulation on Wednesday helps a lot to be ready. I always prepare myself for the races with the same mindset: Maximum conditions!”

In class C with the F-308, Alex's Toril driving progressed personally after having tuned the set-up of his car. With all the enthusiasm of a 15 year old boy traveling to his motherland hoping to make from this sport his profession. His youth doesn't make patience one of his greatest virtues, but his talent and professionalism at work will make him reach his goals soon enough.

A.T: “ After the tests in Valencia, i finally feel comfortable with my car, i had a very good performance. Nurburgring is just another track, a very popular one, so i'm very much exited to drive there. This time I worked a lot on myself physically, i wanted to stay fit and strong for this race.”

Finally, the failure to incorporate momentary car race driver for health reasons, Shane Morris, along with the very good performance that showed Moises Soriano in the initial race, made the team want him back at Nurbugring.  And so, be able to fulfill the dream of a Valencia Carting school pilot, with the support of Banco Santander.

M.S: “ I had more confidence in Valencia's tests on the F308. In the last sets of training i had already improved my previous timings. The more i drive the more I'm comfortable in my single-seated car therefore more confident.  Nurburgring has a lot of fast curves and i like it, although it makes me a bit nervous. But i trained a lot on my bicycle for endurance and my trainer pushed me really hard. So i'm good to go for this race!”
