Despite a tough week end in Portimao, Cedars made 18 points

Cedars started in Portimao with the new F312 suffering for various technical problems that forced Matteo Beretta and mostly Noel Jammal to stay lower in classifications.

Still, Matteo came 6th and Noel 8th on Saturday's race and 8th on Sunday's after an amazing race.

Matteo: “on Sunday's race it was raining so much I couldn't see in front of me. I expected to have a better position in this race; I wanted to be closer to the top. But the good thing is that I made points for the team and this is what counts at the end”

Noel: “After missing 3 practices in wet weather because of engine problems, I couldn't get the feeling of the new car while driving it. That's why I did bad in qualifications. On Sunday, in my first lap I was still trying to find the car limits. And when I did, it was already my last lap, which was my best (0.2 sec than the fastest lap). This was my main issue.

I'm a pilot who always wants more so I'm very confidante for my next races.”

In Class C, Alex Toril, after brilliant trainings, found himself implicated in an accident on Saturday that he's not guilty of, which deprived him from a place on the podium. Sunday, and after an accident in qualifications, he couldn't race due to insecurity in his car.

Alex: “I didn't have much luck in the first race as I got hit by another car and got pushed out of the track. So I stopped the race. On Sunday, I don't have much to say since I didn't get the chance to race due to technical problems. Now, I must forget Portimao and concentrate on Nurburgring where I'll give it all”

Moises Soriano found himself also implicated in Saturday's accident which also deprived him from a place on the podium. On Sunday, after an amazing rainy race, he finished in 4th position.

Moises: “ I was really nervous in my first race on Saturday, specially that it was my first race in European F3 open. I made a good start and maintained my position until luck left me and I got hit by another car that pushed me out of the track. I was in 3rd position, it could have been a very good start for a first race.

Still, I have a lot of time to improve my performance with my coach Alvaro Barba, and I'm very happy to get the 4th place on Sunday”.
