Free practices: Monza

28-09-2012

Today's free practices in the Autodromo Nationale de Monza in Italy were very encouraging for Cedars pilots, regardless of the small braking issues they had.

Noel Jammal started the day on a high pace, as he bounced between position 4 and position 8 in the first free practice session making progress both on his timings and driving skills.

In the second free practice session, some changes were made to his front suspension geometry to help him on the braking due to its poor performance. But a failure with the chassis bracket led to a poor balance of the car on the breaking and ended him up in the 11th position.

After replacing the bracket and keeping the changes made in F.P.2, Noel drove with old tires in F.P.3 in order to understand better these changes. Once satisfied, he went for fresher tires for the rest of the practice and ended in 8th position, knowing that most of the drivers in front of him had new tires.

As for Moises Soriano, being the first time here, he was discovering the track. Nevertheless he managed to arrive first in class C and 5th in general in the first free practice session doing very good timings for a pilot on a new track.

In F.P.2, Moises had the misfortune of being hit from the back by another pilot's car, obliging him to go in for a quick reparation that wasn't enough to get the car on a best performance. He ended up 12th in general position.

In F.P.3, and after working on the car thoroughly, Moises couldn't make much improvement, with the disadvantage of not having a car in front of him to reduce his wind speed. He finished 5th in class C and 11th in general positioning.
