Hungaroring: Free practice day

07-09-2012

Hungaroring is a very difficult track and one of the slowest on the calendar, so the machine should be set to a high level of downforce. The twisty and bumpy nature of the circuit makes overtaking very difficult in dry conditions. As the circuit track is in a valley you can see about 80 percent of the racetrack from any point.

Cedars pilots had their share of difficulties in Friday's free practices.

Noel Jammal started on a good pace in the first free practice. Having changed the chassis of his car due to numerous problems in his previous one, Noel's strategy for this week-end is to try different settings on the new car. Starting with used tires, he bounced during the entire session between P1 and P3, to finally finish in P6, doing a timing of 1'42.187, less than a second away from the first in his category. In the 2nd session, new tires were used, which made it difficult on Noel to overcome his opponents, having to warm up the tires and lose time. He arrived 13th place. In F.P.3, Jammal had a misfortune in his car when the mounting of the engine broke making the car unstable and forcing Noel to slow down in order to avoid an accident. He finished 15th in his category.

As For Moises Soriano, he made a very good start in the first and second session, where he finished 2nd in class C in both the 1rst and 2nd free practice, only a second away from the first driver in class A. Unfortunately, he wasn't that lucky in the last session, as he slowed down his pace due to an unbalance in his car result of overused tires. He finished 5th in class C, 12th overall. Yet it stays very clear that Moises Soriano is in for the pole position!
