Paul Ricard Free practice day

20-07-2012

The first day in Paul Ricard was a very encouraging day for Cedars team pilots, as each one of them made progress in their free practice sessions.

After experiencing several car problems in Brands Hatch, Noel Jammal came back stronger in Paul Ricard, having worked on different settings for his car, he's more determined than ever.

In today's free practices, Noel started the first session testing his new settings on the track. He finished 15th, after stopping for a technical problem in the start up button. In the F.P.2, he continued adapting his driving to different settings. Noel arrived 7th, advancing 8 places and shortening the gap between him and the first driver from 2''931 to 1''326 per lap.  In F.P.3, Jammal fought for the third position until he got caught in traffic and finished 5th, reducing the gap to 0''941 (less than a second), doing a timing of 2'05.712. All in all, Noel made the 6th position in the three free practices results.

Alex Boquoi Toril, our younger driver had an amazing free practice day today, proving his ability to be among the best despite his strong youth.

In free practice 1, Alex finished 2nd in class C, being 0''362 away from the first pilot in his category and only 1''185 away from the best timing. In F.P.2, he managed to keep his 2nd place, racing like professionals, always trying to keep up with the best. In F.P.3, Alex slowed down a bit due to traffic on track, arriving in 4th place in class C. All in all, he kept his 2nd position in general free practice results of the day. Very good job for a 15 year old!

Moises Soriano started the day trying to get to know the track, being the first time in Paul Ricard, he wanted to test it at his own pace studying every curve and straight line.

In free practice 1 he arrived 3rd in class C, followed by a 4th position in F.P.2. But Moises was preparing a surprise, as he started the F.P.3 in power. After examining thoroughly the track, Soriano gave it all in this final free practice. He finished 1rst in class C, going from a timing of 2'07.638 to 2'06.176 in his final lap.

Not surprising from a pilot as talented as Moises.

The week end has just started. The best is yet to come. Stay tuned!
